Hello

Hello Blog,
I apologize for neglecting you for quite sometimes. It is not my intention though. Oh well! Life is all in its usual humdrums and time keeps ticking away. At times, I do feel a bit overwhelmed with what life has thrown to me. Be it good or bad, I’m telling myself to think and take things positively. What’s the use of crying, bawling my eyes out and feeling sorry over some problems on hand? I rather trying to keep calm and be collected. That way, I can think clearer sans being too emotional. And most of all, I pray and ask for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness. There are few major things are happening now but I just don’t feel like writing about it yet. Soon, I’ll let the cat out of the bag, so to speak.

It is already halfway through the month of Ramadan and I wish you well and may all of us be blessed by Allah for our ibadah performed during this holy month. Insyaallah..

Eid Mubarak

We are approaching the end of Ramadhan month already. Soon, Muslims all over the world will be celebrating Eid or Adilfitri, the 1st day of Syawal month.

On this joyous occasion, I would like to wish all of you Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf zahir batin.

Be safe wherever you are and hope you're having good time this festive season with family and friends.

For those who are driving back for the long holiday, be considerate and don't road-hogging (my pet peeves of Msia drivers!)

Long weekend ahead

Hi all.
It's already wednesday. In anticipating the long weekend starting this Friday, I am inundated with so many plans and some errands to do. But then, we'll see if I have the will & strong enough to dive and join the throngs of people doing their shopping for Aidil Fitri festival this weekend.
See, this friday 27/8 is a Public Holiday for Nuzul Quran Day (17th Day of Ramadhan) and next Tuesday 31/8 will be Malaysia's 53rd Independence Day. I just applied for 1 day leave for Monday 30/8 and there, a nice 5 days weekend to enjoy. Kinda neat, eh?
No definite plan yet as of today. But I know I'll be driving back to Hometown for Iftar with family.
If weather permits, I might drive further to coastal area and hit the beach? during fasting days? hmm..not impossible and why not?
Anyway, I'll leave you with this video of lady Antebellum - need you now. This is quite sad song. But at the same time, kinda uplifting. Oh well, you can either like it or hate it, I don't mind a bit.
(Just hit 'pause' button of the mixpod playlist on the right side menu bar, if you want to play this video. thanks & enjoy it love!)

Ramadhan is here!

yes, it's the time of the year again.
It's the arrival of Ramadhan month where all muslims are required to fast for everyday from sun up to sunset for a whole month. Muslim (in Malaysia) will start their fasting from tommorow until September 20th. It'll be a time to reflect, be thankful for all the good things in life and try to optimize the opportunity to score more good deeds (pahala) as much as possible during this holy month. And of course, don't over eat, people! I know it's tempting to see all delicacies and dishes on sale every afternoon throughout the month. Note to self : If anything, I should be watching what I'm eating this time. Haha!
So yeah, have a good ramadhan and hopefully we will be blessed during this holy month. Peace on earth y'all!
p/s: my car's battery died on me this morning! erghh!! but managed to had a good karaoke session last nite with I and her sister A and 3 new friends - A, H & A. Fun time before the fasting month? what a crap concept. But am not paying, so most definitely not complaining. tehehehe.

Random Ramadhan Rants

I slept Sunday away. Ow! that was bad. I even missed my sahur. My eyes won't open, my body felf kinda ached all over, I thought I was hit by fever or something, but luckily I'm not. So it's just pure tiredness and lazy bones I had. Heh! like I didn't recognize it lah kan.
Friday was fun. Met few friends for Berbuka puasa at Madam Kwan @ Pavillion, Bukit Bintang. Then drove around town aimlessly with R**. We chatted and she updated me with latest gossips about people we knew (its fun!) and I ended up crashed for the night at her place. Her toddler is getting bigger (since we last met) and so brilliantly cute! I love all my friends' kids. I do.
Saturday evening makan2 was with another group of friends at Cozy @ Great Eastern Mall. It was my first time there. Yeah, i know the mall was opened like 5 years ago, but I didn't make a point to go and visit every newly opened mall in KL, so you see, until I had any chance or reason to actually go there, I won't. Well, the opportunity came yesterday and I think GE Mall is nice and not too crowded. Shops are abundant and variety is the order of the day.
We (me and R**) also stumbled into an old friend from college. Funny how I recognized her voice even before actually sees her. Actually, she 's talking to her son and we were separated by racks of goods in the Pet shop, but I heard her voice loud and clear and I knew it's K*fi! She looks fine but a bit on skinny side. Probably from all the chasing her boy around, eh K*fi? and yes, her boy is also a cutie pie. I just love kids. Damn! why must the maternal instinct kicking up so bad now.
Off to my sahur now. Taa

Ramadhan this year

it's 4th day of Ramadhan and iftar by myself is soo not fun. at all.
Might dash off to hometown tommorow after work and plan to have a feast for buka puasa with my folks. Hmm, I wonder if Mak wouldn't mind to cook my favourite dish - Pais Ikan Tilapia. ergh! thinking of it enough to make my mouth watered..I generally know how to prepare the dish, but then it's not the same as my Mom's and she knows best, so take for granted a bit lah! Anyway, the reason for some guilty-feeling to ask her to cook for me is because she had an eye operation recently and since then, cooking (as in heat from frying etc) is a big no as cautioned by the doctor. but we'll see about it, perhaps my sister could be the chef and I'll be the host. You know, when you see a cooking show on tv, there is a chef who sweat it out and showing the skills and then, there's the host who rattled off nearby and only do the simplest task and taste the food. Haha! that's me.
oh by the way, I went to Avril concert with Ly*x and it was awesome!

October this year..

Hi y`all!
My lil brother, Jai is now 25 years old and I was happy that he received the special parcel I sent over to Lubeck on the Oct 15th. Boy! Was he a happy man to see the goodies I packed inside. All gratitudes, touching words and many thanks aside, I actually had the intention to send him stuff for quite sometimes. And since his birthday this year coincides with Raya season, it’s all the more reason to give him some cookies, kerepek, rempah ratus and what nots. Oh! I also bought him a baju melayu too! because if I’m not mistaken, he had only 1 black baju melayu which he brought to Germany ages ago. We had many chat sessions during the holidays and seeing him through the webcam at least had cheered my parents a lot! Especially, Mak who is not very well and just being diagnosed with Diabetis during Ramadhan. My sister, Kak Chik who passed away in year 2000 was also born in October. Al fatihah to you, Chik

Raya this year was fun! I noticed that I almost never had same Raya celebration as compare to the previous year(s). That is actually what I’m looking forward during the festival. I always know that I’ll be chilling around house, eating delicious food and channel-hopping in front of TV, but greeting people who came visiting and catching up with old friends are more meaningful to me. This year, cousins & their families from N9 drove all the way to Pahang. Their late mothers and Mak are sisters. And I did managed to visit their house last weekend when I was back in KL. It was good to keep in touch with cousins whom we were so close since child, I don’t know whether it’s the distance or for lack of communication, over these past years we somehow only had minimal contact as in not in each other’s loop. So it’s good to catching up with each other’s life and their kids have really all grown up now!

Well, after Raya, it was back in the office and many open house invitations are going around in KL for these few weeks. Not helping at all with my diet plan. Erghh!

Yummy ketupat! no, i did not weaved that
