Never say never..of cheesecake

I've never been much of a fan for cheese cake all these while. Yes, I do eat them, but I don't have sleepless night if I can't get any during some crazy craving bout ( not that I have any) and I had tried many types or flavours in between, but none really left lasting impression. Until last night. My BFF introduced me to a Japanese bakery @ Isetan, Suria KLCC called Miki Ojisan No Mise (Uncle Miki's Shop) and their lovely, marvellous, awesome and super smooth cheese cake I've ever eaten. Ladies & Gentleman, to quote Rachel Zoe; I die.

Today, I woke up smiling especially when remembering the good moments last night. Got to spent an awesome time with some of my best friends. I had dinner @ Madam Kwan's with SRR + MAM and UZA. and later, Karaoke session (minus UZA who has to rush back to office, what?? meeting @ 8PM? :P) and together with Eds. Finally, I also got to meet his fiance, AB. Such a sweet girl and have an excellent voice too! I loike!

A New Day

So this is it. The day has finally arrived. It’s my birthday folks! Like I mentioned previously, I usually couldn’t be bothered that much, but today..Well, today is wee bit special because I am getting a god daughter this afternoon. I hope her imminent arrival to this world will mark as beautiful additional to her wonderful family. I hope she will grow up and make her parents and her god mother proud. I wish her all the best and I promise to try and be there whenever she needs me. This is the closest to being an actual mom that I can be. So help me God, I don’t intend to screw this. Yikes!

Big Shout Out to a Friend - yes Roz, to you! :)

May our friendship last forever by Nicholas Gordon
May our friendship last forever;
May I sail upon your sea.
May we go through life together;
May there always be a "we."
May I be your endless sky;
May you breathe my gentle air.
May you never wonder why
Each time you look for me, I'm there.
May we be for each a smile
Like the warm, life-giving sun;
Yet when we're in pain awhile,
May our suffering be one.
May we share our special days,
The happiness of one for two;
And if we must go separate ways,
Let my love remain with you.
Happy Birthday Roz, my dearest friend!

Random Ramadhan Rants

I slept Sunday away. Ow! that was bad. I even missed my sahur. My eyes won't open, my body felf kinda ached all over, I thought I was hit by fever or something, but luckily I'm not. So it's just pure tiredness and lazy bones I had. Heh! like I didn't recognize it lah kan.
Friday was fun. Met few friends for Berbuka puasa at Madam Kwan @ Pavillion, Bukit Bintang. Then drove around town aimlessly with R**. We chatted and she updated me with latest gossips about people we knew (its fun!) and I ended up crashed for the night at her place. Her toddler is getting bigger (since we last met) and so brilliantly cute! I love all my friends' kids. I do.
Saturday evening makan2 was with another group of friends at Cozy @ Great Eastern Mall. It was my first time there. Yeah, i know the mall was opened like 5 years ago, but I didn't make a point to go and visit every newly opened mall in KL, so you see, until I had any chance or reason to actually go there, I won't. Well, the opportunity came yesterday and I think GE Mall is nice and not too crowded. Shops are abundant and variety is the order of the day.
We (me and R**) also stumbled into an old friend from college. Funny how I recognized her voice even before actually sees her. Actually, she 's talking to her son and we were separated by racks of goods in the Pet shop, but I heard her voice loud and clear and I knew it's K*fi! She looks fine but a bit on skinny side. Probably from all the chasing her boy around, eh K*fi? and yes, her boy is also a cutie pie. I just love kids. Damn! why must the maternal instinct kicking up so bad now.
Off to my sahur now. Taa

Friendship we made along the way..

So I’ve constantly been reminded of the fact that I’m getting old. Well, guess what? I have not forgotten my own birthday! So I must be doing fine (haha) but then, once in a while, when truth strikes home it makes me pause and painfully reminded that time do flies. Sheesh! Case in point had happened last month when I was invited to a wedding ceremony. Mind you, this is not just another wedding of my college friends, but it was 2 of my former scholars/students whom I had been lucky to know and managed during my stint at xom. We were introduced, like 6 years ago and at that time these 2 wonderful people and their 3 other friends were just barely out of school. I did truly enjoy my work during that time because it was such a fun things to do! Apart from arranging their numerous preparation courses and what not (TOEFL, SAT, OBS) I even tagged along their visit to oil & gas terminal, refinery and yes, including the helicopter ride to a Gas Drilling Platform! But god knows why I can’t remember its name. ( Probably, the trauma of walking around the platform and fighting my fear of heights and nothing around you but deep, deep blue sea) I was also helping my boss to prepare allowances of other students (their seniors) at that time, but because I was involved from the beginning and spent so much time with these 5 scholars, we became very close and more like friends than coordinator/scholars. Oh well, who wouldn’t like them all? They are like top students from their schools, well mannered, intelligent and well brought up. For that, I give credits to their parents (probably good teachers also lah). Although, I left the company not long after they were all in US, we still keep in touch and once in a while whenever I rang an old colleague, it make me proud too when I heard of their news and yes, superb results throughout their bachelor degree. Nowadays, all 5 are engineers (1 is a geologist though) in various departments with the company (of course they are, they were bonded for 5 yrs anyway!) and when we meet again (around the time they were to start working), it’s kinda cool to see that each has turn into a working adults and shouldering different kind of responsibilities. And 2 of them fall in love with each other, sweet kan? To Fir & Seri ( Have a nice life together), Iman, Zeed & Izrin (who introduced me to Harry Potter series!) I will always cherish our memories together! It’s been an honour to meet and befriends all of you.

update : The platform's name is Jerneh.
update2 : The pictures from Fir & Seri' wedding take ages to upload! erghh..probably later I'll post em lah.

Fun Sunday

I know today's already Tuesday, but hey! Sunday was fun!
Met Angah & Co at Suria and accompanied them a while at Isetan for some shopping. Later met Ali*, Ro* & Hubby, Od* and Iv* & Co at Chilli's. We chat, eat, chat some more and keep refilling our (bottomless) drinks! After I had my ice lemon tea for like 7 times, we make a move and decided to get out of KL that evening.
Left my car at Projet Gombak and hopped into Ro* car and headed to Bukit Tinggi. It was my first time there and honestly the places is kinda nice in a quiet and peaceful way albeit the exorbitant newly-enforced charges for every visitors! As a consolotion of some kind, we only have to pay half-price (RM8, still!) because it is already 5 pm. The Colmar Castle is pretty (why I use that word?!) and different, duh! I've never been to any French Chateau, if not I would've been able to make more concrete observation or comparison, well, as in the case..I think it's quite majestic.
However, the Japanese Garden is quite unique. Although we have to walk (and climb) around the path for like 15 minutes, it's beautiful, especially the Koi Pond and natural trees all over the garden.
Then, we rushed to the Rabbit Farm (it's almost the closing time!) and watched the caretaker piled the rabbits and tranported them into their cages nearby.I was like..adoii! as if I can feel the pain of the rabbits! They were practically squashed together, man. Beside the rabbits, they are few donkeys and spotted deers too. We took some pictures using Od* N73 handphone and boy! it was so cool and the pics are crystal clear!
Next stop, Uf* restaurant, Nong Sa Thai at Wangsa Melawati for some dinner. A usual the tomyam is a must! I felt quite sleepy by the time we finished eating, but I'd promised to send Od* to get her car at Shah Alam and the fact that it was raining cats & dogs doesn't help either. Finally, arrived home around 12++ and zzzzz...
On Monday, we started new assignment for the year, but lucky me, I didn't have to go outstation just yet!
