Spritzer Girl!

Have you watched a film titled ‘The Women’? okay, first off, I knew I was late/outdated/fall off the bandwagon or call it what you want. I only came across the DVD yesterday and watched it last night. My immediate reaction after the final credit roll is to hit the ‘Play’ button again! It was that Awesome! Owh man, I knew I already read the interview on Meg Ryan in the Oct 2008 InStyle Magazine (The same interview piece where she told that her ex- Dennis Quaid cheated on her during their marriage) and of course there are stories of her latest project – ‘The Women’. Anyway, let me tell you why I found this film is brilliant.

1) The casts
Look the cast member folks! Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Eva Mendes, Candice Bergen, Debi Mazar, Cloris Leachman (most hilarious of all!) etc. If that doesn’t impress you, I don’t know what will.

2) The story
Although this is a remake from original movie of same title from 1930s, this latest/renewed version was done with superb themes (still on issues related to women but ‘twas time/generation-appropriate to current world), great story telling, excellent style of flow and deliciously witty. I laughed so hard especially by those funny lines by Edie Cohen (Debra Messing), Alex Fisher (Jada Pinkett-Smith) and Maggie the housekeeper (Cloris Leachman). The director of film, Diane English has done a superb job!

3) It’s an all women characters

How refreshing. (considering I have not watch the original 1930s one)

4) Gorgeous clothes

From the collection of Mary Haines (Meg Ryan) - Woho! yummy! It was designed originally by Narciso Rodriguez. How talented!

As much I would like to blab here more about the film, I think you should go get a copy/download and watch it (if you haven’t already.) I seriously think this is a heart-warming, empowering and insanely hilarious film!

*Spritzer Girl a.k.a Crystal Allen- the girl who works at Saks selling perfumes behind counter. Played by Eva Mendes in the movie.

Lovely..

I love cats. They are so cute, lovely, intelligent but usually spoilt rotten by their owner. These are pictures of Y' male cat named Kodok. As you can guess, he was spoilt and treated like a royal by his owner. Practically a baby to Y, well, until the real baby arrives anyway. (Congrats to Y & A!). I got 2 cats of my own called Harry & Tommy. They are almost 12 years old. But I have none of their pictures in my safekeeping now. I'll take some when I went back to my hometown next time.

Unconditionally

Unconditionally

To reciprocate
Is to willingly let go
To honour
Is to humbly accepting
To cherish
Is to gladly reaching out
To hope
Is to happily forgive
To soar
Is to know that you are content
To love
Is to give your heart and soul
Unconditionally.

Best Job in The world..

..is definitely not mine.

Hello y'all. Hows thing lately? Hope you're doing fine.

Am so into Kelly Clarkson latest album 'All I ever wanted' right now. Practically singing her infectious tracks in the car while driving and also while doing my works in the office. But rest assure that I won't suddenly jump on the table and belting out KC' My Life Would Suck Without Y*u' at the top of my lung anytime soon. Work wise, nothing new to report. Am in the office for the rest of May and most probably off to East Malaysia, Sarawak in June. Problem is, I hope it'll not clash with my plan trip to Phuk*t also in the middle of next month. we'll see about that, cause I can't back out from this trip. The airfares have been paid many months ago (last year, in fact) and we're just about to finalize the accomodations etc. Am so looking forward to this trip. I need a break from my mundane and routine job. Speaking of job, Congratulations to Mr Ben S.! I heart this guy! owh..so green with jealousy right now grrr!

okay folks, I leave you with this pictures of beautiful sunset. Taken during my work trip to Melaka last March. These are view of Straits of Malacca from my balcony at Century Mahkota Hotel, Melaka.

I was away, I came back and yet..

I don't feel like writing much and detailing of my work trips here. There are, after all as the name suggested, work-related trips. But you're dead wrong if you think that's all I ever did during those long weeks away. Of course there are fun-n-play time! *wink*. Most of the time, my colleagues and I were busy enjoying delicious & cheap food that we could grab at Kota Bharu & Kuala Terengganu. The seafood there are heavenly. The fish, crabs & squids are all super fresh & well..dirt cheap. Pictures of the grub we had can be seen below. Hmm..howzzat?

Happy Brthday Adam Zane

Yesterday I attended the Birthday party for the son of my best friend. His name is Adam Zane Azlan and he turned 2 last Friday (April 10th). The theme was 'Wonder Pets' and his mummy put a cape (ala one of Wonderpets character) on him, so cute. I tried to find toy with Wonderpets characters/pictures but to no avail. However, got him a nice train by Fisher Price. Hope you like it, Adam! Met so many friends at the do. However, I was out of the door by 5 to rush for my flight at Subang Airport and here I am now, at Kota Bharu, Kelantan until this Thursday. On the other hand, my sister in law has been admitted to a hospital here and is schedule to undergo her C- Section tommorow. Weee! Looks like I'm gonna get a new niece/naphew soon!

Here is Adam Zane. A handsome boy and bundle of joys belong to SRR & MAM! Good job Mummy & Daddy! Love you all.

p/s : and thanks for the lovely food. Sorry can't stay long and help clean up.

Listen: (this has been playing in my head since yesterday) - Wonder Pets theme song!

Talented Bloke

Have you heard of this artist name James Morrison? He is so talented, and his songs are all awesome. I think he's also very gorgeous to boot! at least for me lah. Yummy.

His voice is like..Oh my god! husky and so engaging. I sleep at night listening to his songs on my mp3 player. Would love to go to his concert one day and I found out that he came to KL in 2007 for the live & loud concert, kinda bummer! where was I at that moment?

His first album 'Undiscovered' was so cool and I never get tired listening to all the tracks. I was hooked. Then late last year when his 2nd album ' songs for you, truth for me' was out, again I found that all tracks are equally nice and this time around, I'm crazy for him! haha.

If you never heard of him, owh! go find the cd ok? and to prove that he's gorgeous as I claimed, here are his pics. I didn't take this personally, credits are to the photographer & his pictures up at his website. For more details of him you can check out at http://www.jamesmorrisonmusic.com/

but the collage is mine lah. Nice or not? see, I told you he's a hottie.

Til next time.

Dream away

I had a weird dream recently. No, nothing's dirty about it :) in case you're wondering haha.
Right,

So I woke up (in my dream) because I felt kind of strong wind, sea breeze blowing to my face. Then, while still closing my eyes, I can hear the sound of waves lapping to the shore and birds chirping. I knew I am somewhere near the sea, on a beach precisely. But I'm positive that I've never been to one like this before. The smells of the saltwater hits my nose and my skin/face affirms that I'm indeed sleeping by the sea, you know the feeling of getting the 'salt on your skin'. I'm under a shady spot of many trees there and I think I'm alone, but I don't feel afraid or freak out, more like enjoying the moments and languishing the afternoon away. Then my alarm shattered all the bliss!Sheesh!

Dream aside, I will be happy to wake up on a place like this!

This is Mataking Island off the eastern coast of Sabah state (Malaysia have 2 states on Borneo Island - Sabah & Sarawak, while the rest of Borneo belongs to Indonesia & a little bit of Brunei). Would love to go to this island again and feast my eyes on the turquiose water, feel the calm and tranquility of the place. It really relaxing, I tell you that. Maybe my next trip there will see me embark on one thing that I wish I'd tried/take up/learn long time ago. Scuba Diving. For more on this lovely little charm island, go visit http://www.mataking.com/

Toodles.

Am here..still

Hello all..

Owh! This is unacceptable. I rarely made any effort to update this blog anymore. How could it be? I love this blog! But somehow I was swamp with works, going outstations and rushing back to hometown in between weekends to help my sister & her business. This blog has truly lost its priority and almost forgotten. I don’t mind if there is no reader who visited and actually read my rant. It doesn’t matter. I wrote here mainly for myself. It’s always fun to me to reread back what I wrote previously and found (sometimes) amusing thoughts of what was actually running in my head at that time. Oh well.
See how fast time flies by? It’s already April. And Malaysia got our 6th Prime Minister last Friday. Here’s to 1 Malaysia! As proclaimed by the new PM, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak. Ah yes, he’s from Pahang, my home state. Although technically, I was born in Negeri Sembilan but I feels more homely in Pahang. I lived most of my life and went to school (even 3 yrs of college in Kuantan). But I love my blood/history of my ancestors who hailed from Tanah Minangkabau to Negeri Sembilan to bits! Sadly, we only maintain minimal contacts with cousins and relatives from my mother’ side. I was in Seremban recently for work, but didn’t make time to go and meet my cousins, Shame on you, Chah!
And where am I going next? Next trip will see me going to east coast of peninsular Malaysia. Specifically,to the state of Kelantan and Terengganu. Coastal towns, cheap food & clothes, hmm what can I say? Let’s hope it’s no longer raining season there.
later.

Note to self

Dear Me,
Life is a journey, not a destination. So watch out for all the stops, fellow passengers, hiccups, delays and all the enriching experience it entails.
Be strong! (or at least try to appear as one, even if you quivering inside..erk!)
Think positive (on everything, on everybody - I'll try lah!)
Love your life. This is one shot-chance of living. No substitute. Make a full use of it.
Focus your energy to what your mind set to achieve! (same old, same old!)
And finally,
Obey the speed limit while driving, Chah! C'mon, after all you're already 32 TODAY!
Damn! I feel old.

Time's Up Bush! and Barack's Parade is Starting..

Hi All,

Apparently after the tumultous 2 terms in White House, United States' 43rd President is ready and eager to start a new quiet chapter of his life. Leaving a legacy, be it good or bad is by no means a small feat. Admittedly, Bush mentioned in his last speech last week that there are many instances where he had to make tough decisions and he lives with no regret of them all. Yeah, lucky for you, everytime, he's decision apparently of course in favour to the advantages of the certain quarter of lobbyist, fundraisers, peoples with stakes and certain type of race & also that non-country who loves to bombing and killing Palestine peoples in their own land. Ergh! Pleasee, make way already..Bush. Be gone your legacy with the mistakes that US people made for elected you to the office in the first place for last 8 years.

On the other hand, Barack Hussein Obama is like a fresh breath of air that American needs in this dire economic moments. He has already planned and got approved for his $300 Billion saving plan from the Congress to revive the economy. Well, here's wishing All the best to Mr. Barack Obama and I'm curious to see about his Foreign Policy as whether he'll be taking different approach from his predecessor or more like move along the line of ' if it's not broken then no need to fixed it'. If things will not turn into something different, radically altogether when he's in helm, then I suppose don't be surprise that he'll only be a 1 term-president only! Let's hope not.

Honestly, this world need its Peace. We have to live in tolerant with other races, religions and languages.

At this point and whenever I took time to reflect; Syukur Alhamdulillah and I am feeling grateful and thankful that we're not living in a war zone and doesn't have to see kids were killed in cold blood on daily basis! Astaghfirullahalazim.. Al Fatihah to all muslims who fall in the middle east turnmoil and here's praying for speedy truce talk and end of the hatred.

Salam.

Of My Niece - Nur Raudhah

Nur Raudhah is the eldest daughter of my second sister. She is a smart, cute and funny girl. She can be naughty and clingy to her mom (and me) at times. Nur Raudhah is a pupil at Tadika Bistari Manja Jerantut and now she is in the 6th year old - class. I would say her obsession is all things related to Barbie and her favourite pastime is of course spending time watching Barbie's movies and that got me hooked on them too! Raudhah was born lactose-intolerent and only drink soya-based milk, Isomil which I can't stand its smell and taste until now. And yes, she's still drinking her milk from a bottle. My mission is to get her use a cup instead. Raudhah has a younger brother and they fights a lot but she can be very protective of him sometimes. I love them both to bits. And I love all my nieces & nephews too. Here's to sweet Odah whom I hope will grow and always be an obedient, smart, successful and sweet daughter to her parents! and remains as a lovely niece to her aunt (that's me!)

p/s : She 'coerced' her mom & me to give her presents nicely wrapped with card & ribbon. And reminded us of buying her cake too. Dang!

Love,

Mak Chah

Of resolution and other matters

Hi there..

Why do people always come up with the New Year resolutions? Is it as the reminder of your failure in previous year (to make change or not to repeat mistakes)? Or as motivational or pushing factors so you’ll work your ass towards that goal this year? For whatever reason there are, it’s our pledge to ourselves and I think we should honor it and put effort to make it happen. Problem is, I always forgot about my resolution by end of first quarter of the year. Pleghh! I do hope things will be different this time around. At least, for myself.

I spent the year-end long holiday recently by helping out my sister at her Bridal Shop. It wasn’t a surprise that I am actually enjoying my works there. It feels fine to approach and sell the packages to customers effortlessly. Well, the products/package are all in my head cause we had numerous discussion on what are the best prices for packages that we can offer. And I don’t mind talking and explaining things to people, hence the selling points came naturally, I think. Anyway, my hometown and its surrounding areas is not a big market and customers are fairly easy to please. But of course, there are some people who want everything under the sun and only willing to pay at miniscule price. Aiyoh! How to do business like that? However, the shop is up and running smoothly now and more people are coming everyday. I wish my sister all the best!.

Have you heard of Elephant Sanctuary at Kuala Gandah, Lanchang, Pahang? We, as in myself and nieces and nephew went there recently. It was my first visit but a second one to my nieces & nephew because they already went there with their parents before. The place looks different, they said. Probably because of some development works are taking place right now and to me, that’s just spoilt the looks and feels of the area which is suppose to be a reserved forest area & sanctuary for elephant. And I believe they should maintain more natural green as much as possible. There are 2 elephants that were chained and can be approached and view closely by visitors. The other 3 adults elephants (by the looks from 50 metres away) are roaming freely in the (electric) gated area and can only be observed from a deck nearby. Hope to go there again sometime in future cause I think the elephants are cute!

November rain..

Hullo all,

Hah! the title means nothing actually. For the lack of any ideas to put as the entry title, and since I was at a place without much rain last month, I kinda missed glorious Malaysian downpour with its thunder storm. Anyway,

What would you expect to find at a country you’ve never been to? How do you think your reaction would be? Well, Papua New Guinea hit me smacked-full in face! I could never imagine the place prior to my visit and obviously, one can only imagined so much. If anyone asked me to describe the country then my answer would be; It’s culturally unique, people are mostly friendly and most of all; it made me cherished and be thankful of what we have here, in our country.
I started the long journey at early hours of Saturday (15/11) on board of the flight to Brisbane via Sydney. Imagine the long hours we’ve to endure and by the time we landed and claimed our luggage, I was so not in the mood to see that my bag has lost one of its wheels. We checked in at Rendezvous Hotel, Brisbane CBD and then walked around few blocks, camera whoring and checked out the night life. Err..more like checking out people who are enjoying their night life there. Next morning, we hit the road by 7.30 am bright & early to the airport again. The flight to Port Moresby was smooth and we landed there around 1.30 pm. That night I was so bone tired and crashed to sleep by 11.30 pm but not before a scrumptious dinner at Port Moresby Yatch Club courtesy of our host.
Everyday, we were chauffeur driven to work and back by the staff. Not because we demanded such treatment, but it is simply unsafe for foreigner to walk around the Port Moresby (or the country) on our own. Foreigners catching the public transportation are almost unheard of. But bear in mind, what I meant here are foreigners who are first timer in the country. If you’ve gotten used to the country and being there for quite sometimes, by all means, go around freely on your own accord. Basic safety rules applied, of course. (i.e take care of your damn self & belongings)

After few days there, my body has already adjusted to the local time and when it’s time to leave, I felt kinda sad. Apparently the place kinda grown on me and I vow to myself that somedays in future, I might came back to PNG. Who knows eh?

Well, It's already December and am back in the office now. Tomorrow, whole department will be in Guoman, Port Dickson for our teambonding thingy. Looking forward to be at the beach.

Taa. okbai.

Post Ramadan Rant

Well, hello you.
First of all, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri! How was your holiday? Mine was hectic and fun. Not so much on going from house to house visiting relatives and whatnots, but a cousin decided to get married this holiday season and me & my sister were super busy to make the preparation as we are her appointed Mak Andam for the 2 days events.
First of, the Akad Nikah was held on Friday night (3/10/08), luckily it was held at the mosque (as the house was still quite in chaos, stuff strewn all over the place) but that night, rain poured so heavily, oh my! like a burst pipe or something! And to make matter worse, the ground surrounding bride’s house have turned squashy and muddy. Big puddles are everywhere. We debated on where to put the main table for Bride & Groom to dine after their Bersanding the next day. And as luck would have it, the tarmac road leading to the house was minimally affected and they simply moved the canopy onto the tarmac road. Anyway, I almost hyperventilating to see the bride’s shoes was streaked with mud and the red earth. Erghh! Oh well, me-the-cleaner got into actions immediately after she took it off and all is well after that. Haha! I thought so, until the next day unfolded in some mini drama as well.
It was Saturday (4/10/08) and me, Angah and Odah sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to my niece, Jijie while waking him up. It was his 4th birthday and he proudly announced that to his Atuk and Nenek while showing his 4 fingers. Aiyoh! Cutie pie! I love you Jijie and hope you’ll grow up to be a smart boy and continues to love your Mummy and this favourite auntie of yours! Haha. I was taking things easy that morning, as it was still early and only Mak intended to be early at my cousin’s place for a Khatam Quran event and Bapak sent her over. But when my aunty kept calling us and asked us to come early, I was quite irritated and passed the phone to my sister. Angah who has bersiap (get dressed), had left before me. At almost 11 am, I started the car and 500 metres later, lo and behold, my car dies. Of all the days, my car decided to dies on my way to an important event. Granted, it’s just a cousin’s wedding but I was suppose to be the (all-important) assistant today and panic attack has shot up and I was on border of became ballistic at that moment by the road. Called my brother at home and asked him to go and find any mechanic /workshop which are open that day. I waited for almost an hour and luckily, my brother found an open workshop and hauled the taukey himself to check on my car. After dropping me off at nearby junction leading to cousin’s house, brother took the Taukey back to his shop with promise that he’ll come back with replacement parts and whatnots. I passed my car key to the taukey and ran to my cousin’s house. Oh well, turns out that I was not that late, Angah has just started the make up and and I went straight to my usual role. You guess it right, an all-important assistant. After whole event thingy had quite turned down and settled, I made few phone calls and it turned out that I have to go and fetched the Taukey from his workshop because he have no transport. I was like, huh? No car at his disposal? Tak kan la takde keta at all. Quite far fetching, but whatever lah. Me and Angah then bought a birthday cake with ultraman decorations and went to the workshop to fetch the mechanic. He immediately get to the job and ask about the timing belt which never been replaced and seems in need of a new one (like I didn’t know that eh?). I agreed and arranged to go and take my car at his place the next day. Money spent aside, I am thankful that the car did not break down in the middle of nowhere or on my way back to KL.
We celebrated Jiji’s 4th birthday with lots of kicking and jumping around the house because I bought 4 masks of Power Ranger characters for Jiji, Odah, Aen and Jijah. They really bring the house down. Atuk and nenek were lost for words, and their mothers were tired of cautioning, reminding and yelling to their kids. Haha! and their favourite aunty (me!) found it very hard to pack things and drive back to KL. I was getting sleepy at the wheel again but this time, I can stop for drink and eat fruits at the Stop-area@Lanchang along the LPT. 3 hours later and after numerous expletives shouted to the erratic drivers who kept hogging the road in front of me, I made it back here safely. On the other note, I am getting another new niece or nephew somewhere next year, my brother is adding up his brood quite efficiently, I’d say.

Taa.
p/s: the above mentioned brother got admitted to ward @ hospital Manjung few days after raya. Aiyoh, get well soon, Yeh!
